About Us

Fiona and Chris have been owners of Gable House since 2003. During this time, the nursery has been expanded several times due to increased demand for places. This expansion includes the addition of a second nursery building in 2016 on the same site, which is called the Rocking Horse. We operate as one nursery with a large outdoor shared playground. We consider the playground use to be just one element of the broader outdoor curriculum on offer at Gable House which includes rental of a large green space in addition to scheduled outings both locally and with the use of our new mini bus.

The nursery provides :

  • Highly qualified, experienced and friendly team of staff dedicated to continuous professional development.
  • High quality Care and education from birth to 4 years
  • Designated age appropriate rooms
  • Pediatric First Aid trained staff.
  • Unique home from home baby room with staff specifically trained in caring for babies.  .
  • CCTV security and password system (Baby unit and Rocking Horse)
  • A spacious, safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor environment
  • A large outdoor play area newly refurbished in May 2022.
  • Funded places for 2 and 3 year olds (Click HERE for information on free places)

We are OFSTED registered - our  latest report is HERE

The nursery has high levels of security, with CCTV monitoring.

We employ a highly qualified, dedicated team of staff who are committed to delivering the highest possible level of care and education to each and every child.

At the heart of every child’s early years education, we recognise the importance of forming close partnerships with parents and carers in order to ensure that the unique needs of every child are met appropriately.

From the very first day you look round our nursery, we involve you the family in every element of your child’s educational journey.

We offer both initial home visits and face to face meetings prior to registration and in addition every family will be offered unlimited short free introductory sessions over a two week period so that you child’s initial transition from home to nursery is as smooth and as stress free as possible.

Every child is assigned a key worker who is responsible for ensuring that parents and carers are involved every step of the way with their child’s learning journey. Key workers are responsible for planning and assessing each child’s needs through a challenging and fun curriculum based on a  child centered approach. Through the use of our Nursery Story App, parents get to see photos and snapshots of what their child is learning  throughout the week. Our aim is for all children to feel secure, relaxed and happy whilst in our care.
